As everyone who has kids know, they can say the funniest things. One of my favorites from Bryce came when he was about 3 years old. He slept in his sleeping bag that night and woke up especially grumpy. When I asked if he woke up on the wrong side of the bed, he replied, "No, I didn't. It was the wrong side of the zipper." The things that he says is not always entertaining, but he makes me smile quite a bit of the time.
Most recently, his legs had been hurting. When he asked me why they hurt, I explained that they were growing pains. He didn't say much. The next day I was bombarded with questions. As each question was answered, I could picture what he was so worried about.
"Mom, will my arms grow, too?" (I pictured him with short arms.)
"Will the leg that hurts worse grow more than the other leg?" (Now, the picture in my mind had different leg lengths.)
I reassured him that he would grow "evenly". But what a picture he had painted from his questions. I just know that he had close to the same picture.
I'm so thankful that God gave us Bryce. Couldn't imagine life without him.
