Week 12

Baseball

Bryce plays it.  Brenna wants to play.  I watch it.  Ashley watches it.  Sometimes I think it's all we do.  I often wonder if Bryce will like it forever.  Right now, he seems to love it.  There is frustration, joy, happiness, stress, anxiety and determination each time he goes to play.  I just want him to have fun, but he wants everything to go perfectly and easily.  Baseball (and life) doesn't work this way.  It's great teaching him life lessons through this.

His first baseball tournament.  3 games on Saturday!!!!  No, you didn't read it wrong.  We were tired.  Brenna said she wasn't going back to baseball.  She did (in about 20 minutes).  We all had fun.  Bryce even wanted to play more on Sunday evening.

Brenna and Bryce on Saturday evening.  She is so proud of her big brother.
She looks up to him and thinks he is awesome.

Week 11

Ughhhhh!  It's March.  It's after Spring Break.  It's almost week 12.  I need to stay caught up.  I'm glad it's been done on the computer because I sure haven't kept this up with scrapbooking.  I will be overwhelmed if I ever print the pictures.

Okay, enough about me. Just about last week. Kathy and I decided to take the kids on a little trip while Ashley and John worked. I drove to Midland and picked her up. We then headed out and ended up in.......

What?  This didn't help?!

How about this?  Okay, we went to Fort Davis in Texas.  Yes, I had to find it on google maps before we left.

Kathy and the kids at Fort Davis.  Bryce had already played an hour of 1880's baseball, and Brenna had joined for a little bit.  Needless to say, baseball was more fun than looking in the fort for the kids.  Brenna ended up with a huge splinter.  I had to ask a ranger for a first aid kit and then bribed her with ice cream while we got the splinter out.  Yep, just another day as a mom.

Swimming at the Harvard Ranch - It was a beautiful pool but COLD!!!  The pool was heated but I was still a wimp! (Kathy was, too!)

Bryce acting silly while swimming.  It's such fun to ask to see a funny face.  The picture of Brenna is funny just because the one I took right before this she appeared terrified.  Why?  Because she thought she was too far off the ground (maybe 3ft?!).  Yes, she belongs to me!

See you next time.  The lovely sunrise as we left Fort Davis.

Week 10

Bryce played in his basketball tournament this last weekend.   I took this picture after the first game on Saturday.  It was a nail biter (for me at least).  We were behind in the last minute of the game.  Bryce scored with 10 sec. left.  The game was tied and the two teams went into overtime.  He scored in overtime, and his team won by 1 point.  It was a great game.  We had played the same team earlier in the week and lost in the last 40 sec.  The teams were evenly matched and it was a ball to watch.  Below is a pic of Bryce and his team.  They came in second in the tournament.  It was a great season!

Brenna got a hula hoop this last week.  She loves it.  It lights up.  I must admit that she is pretty good.  She even thinks that she can do tricks with her hula hoop.  She spins around while trying to hula hoop.  Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.  I hope she continues to work at it because she seems to really enjoy it.

Week 9

A boy and his bow
Bryce got this for Christmas from Gramps this year.  Its been fun for all of us.  Well, probably not Brenna.  She's not quite big enough yet.  I enjoy shooting it just as much as Bryce does.  He's better than me.  All I have to say is that he aims much better than me.  Check it out.

Brenna and Mia

Next door neighbors and friends - They enjoy playing with each other.  Tea parties and dress up fill their afternoons.  Brenna just had to have a picture with Mia for this week.
