Birthday

HAPPY 8TH BIRTHDAY!

Bryce a few hours old (Thanks, Karen, for taking this wonderful picture).
Bryce this summer Bryce turned eight today. I can't believe it. Kids grow too fast. From a baby to toddler and a toddler to a little boy, I now feel like he's a little man. With much hesitation (because it's happening too fast), I continue watch him become a wonderful young man. Questions flood my mind as I watch him grow. Where will he go to college (I hope he goes)? Who will he marry? Even as far as what will high school hold for him. I hope he is happy, healthy and finds strength in God.

Twelve days after Bryce was born, I sat down and wrote a letter to him. It ended with this:

May you have

Faith as you walk through life,
Love that fills your soul,
Hope that flows through your heart,

Joy and happiness that delights you and

Courage that makes you strong.

A few more of my favorite pictures of Bryce growing up.

Trixie

Bryce and Trixie right after we got her.

Today stunk. Not much else to say. A year and a half ago we bought a puppy. We named her Trixie. She was energetic, chewed (on everything), and brought laughter to our house. She also liked to bite (not just puppy bites). Bryce loved playing with her. Brenna thought she was okay because Bryce did. Bryce spent time in the yard playing with her, wrestling with her, and chasing her. She would still bite. After training she still had the same problem. We tried everything I knew to try. We finally made the decision that she had to leave our house. With many tears (from Bryce and me), she left. Today. Bryce is still crying as he tries to go to sleep. I hate it for him. It makes my heart hurt for him. I hope Trixie finds a good home and that Bryce will (as my mom would have put it) build some character that will help him become a stronger person. It just stinks to have to do it at his age. So, here are a couple of pics of Bryce and his dog. As I said, today stunk.
